A beloved Blood Bowl model returns with a new sculpt. The Skaven Master Assassin named Skitter Stab-Stab was a metal Star Player introduced in the early 2000s. The character returns to join Underworld Denizens or ‘Favoured Of…’ teams, an enigmatic force to be reckoned with.

Blood Bowl is a board game originally designed by Jervis Johnson in 1986. A loving parody of classic Warhammer Fantasy Battles and its world, the game asks one all-important question: “What if all the Warhammer factions could work out their differences with a ‘friendly’ game of American football?”

During a battle, the Dwarfs and Orcs discovered the strange temple of the god Nuffle, and the rules that makes up his rites. After that – and discovering the strange, green grass-like surface the games are played on – the game of Blood Bowl spread throughout the world, replacing war…but not the violence.

But who is Skitter Stab-Stab?

The Skaven Master Assassin known as Skitter Stab-Stab is a real enigma – outrageously popular among Blood Bowl fans for his bloody (and frequent) displays of knifemanship, but almost completely missing from all official league records. If it weren’t for his devoted following, officials would have a hard time proving he ever existed at all.

Unfortunately for other players, Skitter Stab-Stab is very real. This assassin has executed his employer’s bidding for countless years despite no proven cases of his involvement, and whenever unfortunate accidents befall officials during a game with Skaven present, there’s always a chance that Skitter is lurking around.

This new miniature is an update on the classic Star Player from the early 2000s, depicted bounding off a discarded ogre gutplate brandishing his twin knives. His cloak is stitched with tons of little blades, billowing out into the wind as he launches himself at another poor victim.

Skitter Stab-Stab is designed move fast and take down blockers, aided by stats like MA9 and AG2+. But he doesn’t stop there, with his Master Assassin skill that makes sure his targets stay down by rerolling on injuries. Skitter Stab-Stab can be hired by any Underworld Denizens or ‘Favoured Of…’ team for 150,000 GP.

Skitter Stab-Stab will be available from Games Workshop in the near future.

Games Workshop no longer credits model designers, painters, and some writers by name. This is unacceptable. As the creative force that keeps the company running, the creators responsible deserve full, clear, and public credit.
