From the creators of the original The Settlers series comes Pioneers of Pagonia, a classic city-builder and civilization simulator. From the demo they are displaying at PAX East, it is obvious that this game will fascinate fans of the genre.
Pagonia is a series of island that are occupied by various tribes and factions. The goal of Pioneers of Pagonia is to find and unite the Pagonians in a peaceful system of friendship and trade.
While the game is in early access, the team at Envision Entertainment shared with Boss Rush Network that they are hard at work to continue and improve the game. The customer is king for Envision Entertainment. They listen to what their community has to say and work to release both major and quality of life updates frequently.
With that in mind, Envision Entertainment announced the release of a co-op mode that is due out in early April. This mode will allow you to join with up to three friends in order to reunite the Pagonians and build the city of your dreams. Play off of your strengths and divide tasks out to make sure your city is as efficient as it can be.
What makes Pioneers of Pagonia stand out from other city builders is that as a player you have virtually unlimited customization options. The developers were focused on making sure that this game could be played (and enjoyed) by players on any level of experience with the genre.
From the beginning of your gameplay experience, you are able to customize your experience. If you want to play combat-free, you can select a map where you build, grow, and make allies with neighboring factions. Those who would prefer the competition and challenge are welcome to select maps where you face bandits, werewolves, and more.
So far, there are 40 buildings, 70+ accommodations, and dozens of systems in this game. The team looks forward to further expansions.
Envision Entertainment works under the “what you see is what you get philosophy when it comes to Pioneers of Pagonia. The level of detail is remarkable. You can watch your buildings be built, watcher your farmers farm, and see the resources your community is using. You can even see the food on the plates of the villagers at the tavern.
Pioneers of Pagonia is in early access on Steam with an extensive roadmap of planned updates as they move toward their 1.0. At the time of print, it is 15% off on Steam.
