PAX East 2024 is about to kick off on Thursday, March 21st and will continue through Sunday, March 24th at the Boston Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Hundreds of exhibitors, panels, and vendors will be there to celebrate the best in gaming.
If you have a day pass or limited time, you may not be able to see everything. Sometimes, the best booths may not be the largest and flashiest, either. As I scoped out the Exhibit Hall prior to attending as press, here are the top ten booths (in no particular order) to stop by if you are short on time with a description of type of booth to determine if it’s for you. Of course, ideally, I recommend ALL booths, but that is not for the faint of heart…
10. Nintendo
Okay, this seems like an obvious answer, but before you exit the page, hear me out. Nintendo only recently appeared on the Exhibit Hall map a few days prior to PAX East. Nintendo will be at Booth 19017 near the escalators when you descend into the hall. There is no official listing, so what they will showcase is a mystery!
9. Atari
Yes, good ‘ol Atari that’s stuck with us in the gaming industry for decades is at PAX East Booth 19025. They are bringing previews of upcoming titles, newly released games (e.g. qomp 2), and the latest retro console offerings.
8. Larian Studios
The creators behind the 2023 Game of the Year, Baldur’s Gate 3 is gracing our presence at Booth 13031. Baldur’s Gate 3 will be available to play on PC, as well as photo ops for cosplayers, a demo of the DOS game, and a batch of brand-new merch!
7. Games from Poland
Be sure to swing by Booth 18084 where sixteen indie games will be showcased! All their games come from, well, Poland, and there’s something for everyone to check out from a cozy, space city builder (Planetiles) to folk horror 2D point and click (Tales from Candleforth).
6. Limited Run
For video game collectors, Booth 11049, is a must-see. Limited Run is back again at PAX East with lots of goodies such as a PAX East Exclusive variant of Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore and Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties for the Nintendo Switch. There will also be games there to try out such as Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland and Renaine.
5. Toge Productions
An indie fan-favorite at Boss Rush is Toge Productions. They will be at Booth 15093, and they have several games for you to try out, including two upcoming titles, Kriegsfront Tactics and Whisper Mountain Outbreak.

4. Fangamer
Make a beeline for Booth 19073 if you like merch. They’ve made merch for a variety of games/franchise such as Katamari Damacy, Shin Megami Tensei V, Omori, and Stardew Valley.

3. Artovision
If you appreciate art, then you need to visit Artovision at Booth 10030. This father-son pair create breathtaking 3D shadow boxes of various video game and movie franchices. Last year, I went home with one of young Link in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

2. Animal Well
At Booth 11037, you’ll be able to play and learn about Animal Well. This indie game is the culmination of seven years of hard work and passion from game dev, Billy Basso. This adventure, exploration game is filled with puzzles and mysteries for you to uncover… This game has been showcased in several platforms including ones hosted by PlayStation, Nintendo, and Day of the Devs.
1. PAX Rising Showcase
Last, but certainly not least, any person attending PAX East needs to check out the games highlighted at PAX Rising at “Booth” 13097. The titles here are curated by the PAX Team and are cream of the crop. Games featured at PAX Rising are:
- Airborne Empire
- Big Box Boxing
- Helskate
- Kind Words 2
- Let’s! Revolution!
- Memory’s Reach
- My Familiar
- Nirvana Noir
- Robots at Midnight
- So to Speak
- Throne of Bone
- Unwound

Of course, check out as many booths as you can, and don’t forget some of the amazing panels throughout the day.
