Toge Productions, known for hit indie titles like Coffee Talk and A Space for the Unbound, is a developer and publisher out of Indonesia and a force to be reckoned with. At PAX East 2024, they have brought two new upcoming games that will further diversify Toge Production’s portfolio.
The one I tried the demo for was a multi-player survival horror title, Whisper Mountain Outbreak. This game channels classic Resident Evil but with their our twist and flavor.
Story Synopsis
In Whisper Mountain Outbreak, the co-op experience is seen through an isometric view and pixel graphics. You and your friend must survive the onslaught of monsters as a result of a curse set upon Mt. Bisik and the fictional town of Daha.
The game takes place in 1998, and Mt. Bisik citizens began hearing and seeing monsters once a mysterious fog descended upon the community.

Our Experience Playing
Patrick and I played the demo and had a blast. We explored independently and together (the latter proved more successful). We fought hordes of monsters as well as solves puzzles. Toge Productions managed to successfully pull off satisfying gameplay–rewarding the players when cooperating to open a safe or blasting away enemies.
The hospital we explored was dark and spooky. The sound design had me paranoid around every corner. I even shouted out loud a couple times. I thoroughly enjoyed the lore scattered throughout the level, and much of my media colleagues agreed that Whisper Mountain Outbreak is a title to keep an eye on.
The wonderful staff at Toge Productions confirmed that Whisper Mountain Outbreak would be available via couch co-op and online multiplayer. The demo currently features two player options, but they are ultimately working on expanding up to four players. Also, while the map remains static, the puzzle solutions are randomized to keep players on their toes.
Some of the elements that remind us of Resident Evil include resource management, combining and using herbs, the health bar, and the puzzle solving. The point-of-view, multi-player, art design, and world itself are unique to Whisper Mountain Outbreak. You are also able to revive your fallen members; however, there are consequences, as the more they are revived, the closer they are to a permanent death.
The demo is available via Steam, and don’t forget to Wishlist it.
