With the launch of The Edge of Fate expansion on July 15, Destiny 2 is overhauling how Guardians access and experience content through the Portal, a new centralized hub that brings together core activities, seasonal events, and Exotic missions all in one place.
The current activity structure in Destiny 2 is divided across separate playlists for Strikes, Crucible, seasonal events, and unique missions. The Portal aims to simplify this by offering a streamlined system with curated playlists like Solo Ops, Fireteam Ops, Crucible Ops, and Pinnacle Ops. Activities such as Onslaught and returning seasonal favorites will also be available, and Guardians can apply modifiers to customize difficulty and earn bonus rewards. This system will give Guardians more control and flexibility than ever before in how they choose to play.
Guardian Ranks are also being reworked to tie directly into the Portal. This updated system is meant to provide a clearer path forward, making it easier for Guardians to understand what to play, how to progress, and where to focus their efforts. A dedicated section for Exotic Missions is included too, finally grouping them in a central location rather than scattering them across various destinations and NPCs.
Connected to the Portal is the new Seasonal Hub, which refreshes weekly with daily and weekly challenges, rotating rewards, and progression toward the updated Conqueror title. Guardians can complete seasonal Conquests and tackle higher difficulty tiers to unlock exclusive gear and earn rank progress. And if you’ve gilded Conqueror in previous seasons, your legacy marks will carry over.
The Portal and Seasonal Hub are a major shift designed to make Destiny 2 feel more connected, rewarding, and easier to navigate. Let’s see how Guardians take to this new system when Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate launches on July 15.
