Aerial Knight’s: Never Yield is a 3D side scrolling runner that was announced on the Indie World Showcase today. This game is set in a futuristic Tokyo-style Detroit; it tells the story of Wally, who has uncovered sinister evidence that can change his city forever. Wally will be running for his life from enemies who will be hunting him down for trying to expose the truth. As someone who has lived in and loves the city of Detroit, this trailer blew me away.

Wally has recovered something vital to expose the truth behind the city he lives in. In this game, you run across a number of different environments, escaping from Wally’s enemies that are eager to hunt him down and retrieve what was stolen. Since this is a side-scroller, your character will constantly be in motion, so you’ll be jumping, sliding, dodging, and dashing to avoid obstacles through the levels.

Complementing the gameplay is an art style that’s fresh and modern. Additionally, the soundtrack for Aerial Knight’s: Never Yield is being done by local Detroit artist “Danime-Sama,” who is accompanied by black artists from all over the world helping with the vocals.

Aerial Knight’s: Never Yield is set to release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on May 19th, and available for Nintendo Switch next month. The demo will be available today on Switch.
