Axiom Verge 2, the sequel to the popular Metroidvania, has been delayed for a second time. Originally slated for a 2020 release, Axiom Verge 2 had to be delayed into the first half of 2021 and will now release for the second half of 2021.
To make up for the second delay, the developer, Thomas Happ, has released a making-of documentary about Axiom Verge online to watch for free. The full documentary is available on IGN YouTube to watch now or on Steam at a later date.
The documentary was filmed and directed by the same team that gave us The Double Fine Adventure documentary, 2 Player Productions. Originally released on a blu-ray included with the physical release of Axiom Verge, but was also purchasable from Steam.
Thomas Happ, couldn’t elaborate on the delay, but says the game, “will be better for the additional time.” All while avoiding crunch time and burnout.
Axiom Verge will be releasing on the Nintendo Switch and Epic games store for PC.
