Nintendo’s popular franchise Metroid receives a new installment coming to Switch on October 8, 2021. Fans have long awaited a new installment; now a new beautiful 2-D adventure is coming their way. The game features beautiful 3-D cut-scenes seamlessly interwoven with classic side-scrolling action reminiscent of Super Metroid. Check out the trailer below:
Metroid Dread is set to release October 8, but you can pre-order a digital version here. Releasing with the game, there will be a new Metroid Dread amiibo set being released featuring Samus and the enemy E.M.M.I. No information was released about the price of the amiibo, which are sold separately.

Metroid Dread also received a 20-minute demonstration at the Nintendo Treehouse Live, where the hosts gave an in-depth dive into gameplay, including combat, Samus’ counter, enemy behavior, and more. You can watch the entire demonstration in the linked video below:
