In an interview over on PlayStation Blog, Hermen Hulst, has said that Sony is committed to releasing their games on the PC in the future. In the interview, Hermen Hulst stated, “We’re still early on in our planning for PC. And Horizon Zero Dawn has been very successful. I think it shows there’s an appetite from gamers outside the PlayStation ecosystem to experience the amazing portfolio of games that PlayStation fans have enjoyed for years.”
Although he did say that all PlayStation games will release first on PlayStation consoles, there is no reason for the game to come at a later date for PC players. While it doesn’t look like Sony will taking the Microsoft route just yet, it is definitely good news for everybody involved as it means more people will be able to experience their games, even if that means enjoying it two years later.
In the same interview, Hermen has reassured fans that Japanese games and talent remain important to the PlayStation brand. He said, “Oh no, I want to be very clear that Japanese games and Japanese talent remain extremely important to PlayStation Studios and to Sony Interactive Entertainment. Japan and Asia are strongly associated with our legacy: the success of Sony, the PlayStation brand, and many of our iconic PlayStation franchises were actually born in that region.” This is good news after the closure of Sony’s Japan studio.
