Xbox Design Lab Comes Back: Make Your Own Xbox Controller

1–2 minutes

Five years ago Microsoft introduced the Xbox Design Labs, a website where you could customize your Xbox One controller in a variety of ways, from the color schemes, button designs, and many more.

The Lab closed in October of last year so Microsoft could focus on the launch of the Series X/S, and according to Xbox Wire, the storefront is up again as of now!

After heading over to the Xbox Design Labs website, you can choose from a variety of options; 18 different colors like Shock Blue, Electric Volt, and Pule Red, different directional pads, analog sticks, triggers, the back pad, and many more. The controller is made with the exact dimensions and specifications of the newest first party Xbox controllers, so expect the highest quality materials and features. These options aren’t all that Xbox has to offer, as they expect many more features to come soon.

Our team is hard at work developing new processes, testing new materials, and innovating so that we can continue to evolve the Xbox Design Lab experience. Over the coming months, we will share more information about new customization opportunities and new ways to personalize your gaming experience.

JAmes Hunter, Senior Director of Strategy and business, Xbox

Each controller created will cost $69.99 (USD), and will be available to the United States, Canada and most Western European Countries. There is also an additional $9.99 (USD) cost for laser etching onto the controller, for added customization. (So now you can have N00BK1ll3R etched on the front of your controller!) Once your order is complete, expect it to be delivered in 14 days.

Excited for this opportunity to customize your controller? Feel free to let us know in the comments what colors and options you’d make!
