Fans are eagerly waiting for a fresh movie adaptation to one of the most famous tabletop games in history. A new Dungeons and Dragons film is set to release in 2023, after delays surrounding COVID-19 and uncertainly in the entertainment industry. In the meantime, images have surfaced online to give us a sneak peak into its development.
Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley will be directing this adaptation. Although the storyline is still a mystery, sources state that Justice Smith, Hugh Grant, Michelle Rodriguez, Rege-Jean Page, and Chris Pine have been cast. The Sun recently reported that Benedict Cumberbatch has also joined the star-studded line-up; however, this has not been officially confirmed. This surely would be a great addition. Cumberbatch not only voiced Smaug in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, but he also worked with Wizards of the Coast for an animated D&D short.
We are hoping for a critical hit on this on as the 2020 Dungeons and Dragons movie was viewed as a complete bomb.
