Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl was announced in February with a new chibi art style, and received a release date of November 19, 2021. Since then we haven’t seen much of an update until now. You can watch the trailer below:
In the new trailer for the game, Pokémon Studios featured new elements such as decorating Pokéballs and changing their effects, being able to swap your characters outfit in the game, an over world map, and having your Pokémon follow you on the map.
There were also two new big announcements for the game, which were online battles, and the “Grand Underground”. Online battles allows you to battle with other players from all over the world, but there won’t be ranked battles. Then there’s the “Grand Underground” which is a maze where you can catch rare Pokémon. You can decorate your Grand Underground home base with statues, which will determine what Pokemon appear in the maze. There’s also a rhythm game hidden in here as well!
Also to note, this game is not being developed by the usual Pokémon dev GameFreak, but it’s being developed by a study called ILCA, where Junichi Masuda currently works; he directed the original games.
