Today was a big day for fans of DC Comics. DC presented their second-annual Fandome event, designed to show the world sneak peeks at upcoming movies, TV shows, video games, and more. And boy, did it deliver. See below for a quick recap on the major announcements.
Movies:
The Batman revealed a second trailer showing more of Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader, as well as Zoe Kravitz’ Selina Kyle, Colin Farrell’s Penguin, Paul Dano’s Riddler, and Jeffrey Wright’s Commissioner Gordon.
After years of just talking about the project, we saw a first look at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Black Adam in this first glimpse at the anti-hero film.
Also part of the Shazam-universe, we got an in depth look at the upcoming Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
Jason Momoa presented some new footage from his upcoming sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
A first look at The Flash showcased a cool new suit for Ezra Miller’s The Flash as well as the long-awaited return of Michael Keaton’s Batman and his iconic Batmobile from the late 80s, early 90s Batman films.
While there was no video footage for Blue Beetle and Batgirl, we did get to see what the heroes will look like in their respective films, coming exclusively to HBO Max.
Video Games:
Rocksteady’s next game that takes place in the same universe as their critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham games, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League got a lengthy story trailer and a good look at some of the villains of the game, including Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Green Lantern.
The upcoming Gotham Knights also revealed a story trailer showing more of what will happen when the Court of Owls comes to call in a Gotham without Batman.
TV Shows:
The CW showed off several of their DC superhero shows, including a farewell panel for Supergirl; a new suit for Barry Allen in The Flash, and a behind the scenes look at season 2 of Superman and Lois.
A bonkers new trailer was released for the upcoming The Suicide Squad spin-off show Peacemaker, starring John Cena as the titular hero.
A ton of information was released about the upcoming Batman: Caped Crusader, an animated show that aims to be everything Batman: The Animated Series wanted to be but wasn’t allowed to be back in the 90s. Taking place in the 40s, the show will be a grittier, more adult animated series and will show new versions of the characters we have come to know and love.
