Elden Ring Gets New Story Trailer After Winning The Game Awards’ Most Anticipated Game

Elden Ring, the next big game from Demons Souls, Dark Souls, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Bloodeborne developer FromSoftware, has officially won The Game Awards’ Most Anticipated Game of 2022. Initially revealed in June of 2019, Elden Ring immediately captured a wider range of fans due to the open world nature of the game and the inclusion of lore and world building written by Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin.

A character known only as the Storyteller narrates the trailer, giving players some brief history about the Elden Ring, the world known as the Lands Between, and the war that is coming. Long time Souls fans will notice the trend started by FromSoftware’s other titles, giving clues to the world that strangers to these games may overlook. FromSoftware is famous for letting players discover the lore as they progress through game through item descriptions, completing encounters differently, and finding shortcuts and secrets scattered throughout.

Elden Ring is set to release on Xbox, PlayStation 5, and PC on February 25, 2022. Are you excited for another Souls-like experience or will this be your first attempt at the notoriously challenging genre? Let us know in our Discord or Facebook group!
