Undead Labs’ State of Decay 2 has been one of Microsoft’s more interesting projects. The current game is almost unrecognizable from when the game launched on the Xbox One, as the Juggernaut Edition has added story DLC, new items, and really streamlining the experience.

Now in 2022, almost four years after the game released and a third game well into development, Undead Labs has announced that State of Decay 2 will continue to receive multiple content updates. These updates will will rework infestations, making them more dangerous but more rewarding, update the game’s UI and make objectives more clear to the players, and tweaking some of the survival elements to make the game feel better. All of these changes are due to community feedback.
State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition is available now on Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One and optimized for Xbox Series X|S. There is no word yet on a release date for State of Decay 3, but with this large content plan for 2022, it seems likely that the next title in the series is still ways away.
