Behold, fellow gamers! A game that tests our wit is nigh-hand! On March 4th, 2022, the full version of Project Triangle Strategy will be yours to experience. Do you like an adventure whose outcome is based upon specific choices you make? Does a tale of treachery, courage, and strength capture your interest? This game will give you all of that—and more!
This wonderful HD-2D adventure is set on the continent of Norzelia, where several nations are in a heated battle for control of salt and iron. As Serenoa, heir of House Wolffort, you are faced with countless decisions that determine the outcome of situations. You command a group of warriors, and depending on what you do—or don’t do—Serenoa’s perspective will shift, and so will those of your group. The people in your party each have their own unique characteristics, so there is no want for variety, and they are some characters, let me tell you! Notwithstanding the seriousness of the story, there is some humor in it.
After having played the demo (which is available on the Nintendo Eshop for free), I found myself enthralled by the overall experience. Truth be told, in the past I wasn’t much into the tactical RPG style of game; I was always more into the turn-based kind. However, after testing the demo, I realized I liked it. It’s fun and challenging, which is part of what makes a game worthy of one’s time. As a tactical game, the battles take longer than your typical turn-based RPG. For some people, the slow-paced fighting may make the game unappealing. However, if you consider the myriad of options available in this game, it does make playing more interesting.
Tactics are, of course, vital to success in battle. One must be able to view the whole battlefield to find good vantage points for your characters. For example, it would be a good idea to place an archer on a roof and out of the way of the enemy while having him or her attack in conjunction with your allies who are on the ground. In Project Triangle Strategy, you can move the camera around to find good locations to place your characters—but watch out, there could be an enemy hiding around the corner of that house!
The thing that originally caught my eye and got me to try this game was the graphics. I love the HD-2D style, as it is still fairly new to me. Like Octopath Traveler, this game combines old graphics with modern HD technology to create quite the aesthetic look! I am amazed at what the developers had done to make this game.
I am excited for this game’s release. I can only imagine how the rest of the story will unfold, and luckily we don’t have too much longer to wait. March 4th isn’t far away at all.
