Square Enix has announced via the Bravely Default Brilliant Lights official Twitter account that the Japanese exclusive mobile game has already surpassed 3 million players in just a week’s time.
The game, which was originally announced in July 2021, launched on January 27th for Android and iOS devices in Japan only. Currently, there are no official plans for localization.
Bravely Default Brilliant Lights is a JRPG that features many characters from the console entries of the franchise as well as a similar combat system. Like with so many other free-to-play spin-offs, the game utilizes a Gacha system where players can acquire new characters and costumes to outfit their party with.
For reaching the 3 million player milestone, games have been awarded special in-game rewards. To access these, players need to simply check their in-game mailbox.

In addition, special commemorative illustrations of many of the main characters that appear in the game have also been released by the development team.
If you are curious about the franchise, we have reviewed the original Bravely Default for the 3DS, as well as Bravely Default II for the Nintendo Switch.
