Is there a Third Doom Game on the Way?

2–3 minutes

Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal are some of the most impressive single player shooters of the modern age. Its puzzle-like shooting mechanics, speed, and enemy design make it instantly recognizable. After selling over 10 million units each, it makes sense that there seems to be a third game on the way.

In a recent job listing, first reported by XboxWorlds, id Software seems to be looking for a new combat director with Doom knowledge.

Though the rumor was originally that id Software was working on Quake, it seems that is not entirely true. Doom 3 will likely conclude this iteration’s story, so they probably want to do it right. It is worth noting that this third entry will probably be an Xbox/PC exclusive due to Microsoft’s purchasing of Bethesda in 2020.

Would you play a third game in the Doom series? Let us know in our Discord or Facebook group!

This week on the Boss Rush Podcast, Corey Dirrig, LeRon Dawkins, and Andre Wilson are joined by Lord Cognito of the Iron Lords Podcast and Defining Duke to break down Bungie's massive strategic update.
