Jedi: Survivor is an action-adventure single-player title sequel set in the aftermath of the original Star Wars trilogy. The story continues five years after Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order leaves off. Players follow the expanding tale of young Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis, who survived Order 66, the Emperor’s command that seemingly destroys all Jedi and the Jedi Order.

The game’s official website describes it as follows: “In Jedi: Survivor, players will experience the ultimate Jedi fantasy as they explore ancient ruins, battle against Imperial forces, and master the art of the lightsaber. With a deep and immersive combat system, players will use their Jedi abilities to overcome any obstacle in their path and uncover the mysteries of a long-lost civilization.”

Navigate familiar frontiers with additional force abilities and new skills

The game’s story is set against the backdrop of an untamed galaxy in turmoil, with the remnants of the Empire still trying to assert their dominance. In addition to the new lightsaber fighting styles, there are new planets to explore and new Force skills to try out. Players can expect to encounter a range of allies and enemies, each with their motivations and personalities.

One of the features many players are excited for is the lightsaber combat system, with a combat system that was designed to be immersive and challenging. Players can customize their lightsaber and choose their fighting style, timing their attacks and parries to defeat enemies.

Additionally, players will have access to a range of powerful Jedi knight abilities to overcome obstacles and uncover the mysteries of a long-lost civilization.

The strategy game has already received positive reviews from critics and gamers alike.

A Star Wars Jedi: Survivor review thread on Reddit shows multiple perspectives, with many already impressed with the strategy game’s visuals, combat system, and story. Many players have praised the game’s attention to detail and faithful representation of the Star Wars universe.

Respawn Entertainment has a strong track record in developing AAA games and has put a lot of effort alongside the Bit Reactor Studio development team into creating a game that is true to the Star Wars universe. This also includes new accessibility features that aim to allow even more players to enjoy the game.

Players note PC performance challenges post launch

More than a few challenges appeared that the team is currently looking to address. Upon downloading the graphics-intensive game, eager PC players have reported a seversl issues, including low frame rates and crashes.

This has resulted in a negative feedback backlash as users quickly jumped on reviews sites to report their frustration and disappointment in how the game currently runs on even high-end computers.

In a follow-up twitter response, the Star Wars Jedi Team has expressed apologetic sentiments with additional commentary noting that while “there is no one single, comprehensive solution for PC performance,” the team is looking into solutions for a wide swatch of performance configurations.

There is hope that upcoming patches will address several (if not many) of the reported concerns. Especially as users share that the new game, while performing poorly, is still fun to play.
