Paradox Interactive, best known as the developers and publishers behind many 4X and grand strategy games, is set to publish Nimble Giant Entertainment’s Star Trek: Infinite. The game is expected to release this Autumn. Nimble Giant Entertainment previously developed the 4X game Master of Orion: Conquer the Stars.
Set in the years prior to Star Trek: The Next Generation, the game seems set to explore how the Federation, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, and the Cardassian Union became what they were by the time of the series. How the game justifies the Borg’s early arrival remains to be seen.
Given Paradox Interactive’s monetization methods, if the game proves to be a success it’s likely that more factions will be added over time via DLC.
What do you think? Which faction are you most excited to command? Let us know in the comments below, or head to our Discord channel to join the conversation.
