The Top Five Tears of the Kingdom Armor Sets You Need to Get

Armor sets in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom offer great boons such as better defense or added effects and/or aesthetics. Since Breath of the Wild, it’s been fun collecting a variety of armor sets, and its sequel has 35 of them (old and new)! Below are the top five armor sets you can’t pass up in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. [Note: This is in no particular order].

  1. Glide Armor Set: This armor set not only looks cool, but it is quite functional for the game you’re playing. Tears of the Kingdom added Sky Islands and the Depths where you can free fall to or from other islands or the surface. At times, there are environmental hazards or battles where precise movement matters, and the Glide set improves your skydiving mobility. On top of that, the way you obtain all three pieces is very fun.

2. Zonaite Armor Set: This set also provides fashion as well as function. With a focus on the Zonai in Tears of the Kingdom, you can rock Hyrule like one while improving your energy for your Zonai devices. Even when I add more batteries to my arsenal, I feel that I always run out of energy too quickly. This set keeps energy lasting a little longer.

3. Charged Armor Set: This is the coolest looking set in my opinion. The Charged shirt gives me King Rauru vibes, and the Zonai-style is easy on the eyes. It offers improved attack during storms, which sounds nice, but it’s a very specific scenario that honestly doesn’t come up too often.

4. Yiga Armor Set: The irony that Link can dress as Yiga and trick other members of the clan is strong, and while the returning Sheikah Stealth Set is also available, this is a newer, fun version that also boosts your stealth.

5. Mystic Armor Set: You obtain this through a very fun side quest of providing Bubbul Gems to Koltin, so both the journey and destination are rewarding here. The white and light-blue colors are gorgeous, and for those who glitched the game into a sickening amount of rupees, its ability to replace loss of hearts with rupees when taking damage is a helpful alternative.

Honorable Mention: Froggy Armor Set. This makes honorable mention because of the promise of slip resistance from the rain. However, unless you fully upgrade it, it’s not slip proof. You still slip a lot, for which I would rather make elixers for all the work I had to put into obtaining the set in the first place.
