Disney Plus has unveiled a sneak peek into the world of its Percy Jackson and the Olympians series through an official teaser trailer.
The show features Walker Scobell as the 12-year-old titular character, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood,
Disney is behind the fantasy action-adventure series, which has Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan and Jon Steinberg writing the pilot episode. James Bobin is the show’s director. Dan Shotz, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Anders Engström, Jeremy Bell, D.J. Goldbeg, and Riordan’s wife Rebecca Riordan will all serve as executive producers.
Adam Copeland, Suzanne Cryer, and Jessica Parker Kennedy joined the cast of the show back in 2022. Copeland will protray Ares, the god of war, while Cryer will play Echidna, the Mother of Monsters. Kennedy is set to play Medusa, the Gorgon.
Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Timm Sharp, Dior Goodjohn, Charlie Bushnell, Olivea Morton, Jay Duplass, Lance Reddick, and Timothy Omundson are also included in the guest star cast.
The Percy Jackson series on Disney+ is based on Rick Riordan’s young adult fantasy book series, which consists of five novels. Logan Lerman played the title character in the two previous movie versions of the book series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010) and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013).
Percy Jackson and the Olympians will debut with two episodes of its eight-episode first season on December 20.
