Stronghold: Definitive Edition storms out the gates on Steam bringing a return to this classic strategy game by Firefly Studios.
This release comes alongside a final trailer to give fans a look at what is in store.
Carefully rebuilt using the source artwork, remastered music, returning voice talent and veteran developers of the first entry in this legendary series, Stronghold: Definitive Edition is the ultimate way to experience the original ‘castle sim’.
With the King betrayed and a realm on the brink of collapse, players must gather their scattered forces and reunite them against the monstrous Rat, Pig, Snake and Wolf. Venturing beyond the original story, players can then march across the devastated English hinterland in search of Sir Longarm’s captured kin.

Stronghold: Definitive Edition adds a brand new 14 mission campaign and a 10 mission ‘Castle Trail’ of siege scenarios, challenging players to besiege such famous historical bastions as Marksburg and Château Gaillard.
This comes atop foundational uplifts like remade visuals, Steam multiplayer, new maps, Workshop support and fresh voice lines from returning voice actors Jay Simon and Christopher Kent.
Also available at launch are many community-requested features, including those from recent demos such as doubled troop limits, customizable modernized controls, rally points, quality-of-life upgrades and more.
