I have been playing Rock Band since the first game and have purchased most of the games that have been released, don’t believe me just check out my Rock Band party article. The game has always been a staple for me for parties, and a great way to socialize and have a bit of fun. But what is next for the franchise and will it even be relevant, let me share my thoughts.
Recently the last new Rock Band DLC songs arrived on the PlayStation store. They included The Calling, “Wherever You Will Go,” Dido, “Thank You,” and Rusted Root, “Send Me on My Way.” With over 3000 songs to choose from in Rock Bands Legacy, what should we expect from Harmonix?
Besides hearing in 2022 from Harmonix, Rockstar Games, and Spotify that a potential Rock Band 5 would release, everything has been quiet on the new title, we have not seen anything to believe it exists, but we at least have verbal conformation that it is in the works. My question is will it be different than its predecessors or will it drastically shake up the band, so to speak?
The story mode has been mostly the same and I would like to see some changes on what the story would look like. Also, in the past we have had character customization and instrument selection. This Time around I would like to be able to customize the instruments, your setup on stage, the venues, stage crew, and transportation. Maybe make your own song lyrics and premade music to share with others and potentially have others play your songs. I want quality and would wait years to have a better, more polished experience.
Have you played Rock Band or other music-based games? Would you want to see a different or better experience from a future game or do the current titles already seem superior to your liking?
