The Nintendo Switch is still selling like hot cakes as we enter the 7th year of its life cycle, and it’s a popular item for kids and adults alike. The console is popular to hard core and casual gamers alike; however, it may be more difficult for parents who don’t play video games to pick out games for their kids. If this is you, look no further!
Firstly, hear out what your kid may want and vet it out. Some may already have some titles in mind, especially the popular ones. Of course, make sure they are actually “kid-appropriate” and investigate what kind of games they are.
Let’s get the obvious, cliche options out of the way:
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: an absolute fun racer with opportunity for multi-player.
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: if you’re kid likes brawlers, this fast-paced fighting game is fun and kid-friendly.
- Super Mario Party or Mario Party Superstars: a virtual board game where you can wreck chaos against against your friends.
- Minecraft: This is one of the most famous games of this generation. Although my son would object this description, but it’s essentially a virtual LEGO game. The sky’s the limit when creating (or surviving) in Minecraft.
