I am an improv comedy girlie.
Who’s Line Is It Anyway had a much bigger impact on my sense of humor than I care to admit. I’m also a huge fan of show’s like Wild’n Out, Yo Momma, and battle rapping in general, which, while not comedy, can be heavily comedic. I also adore actual-play light-hearted DnD podcasts. I say all this to say, I love entertainment that is heavily improvisational. So I don’t say it lightly when I tell you that Game Changer is one of the best.
If you’ve never heard of Game Changer, it’s produced by Dropout and hosted by Sam Reich. The concept is simple: three players come on the show and every episode, the game they play is different. Players have no idea what game they’re walking into when they come on set and it’s their job to figure out the rules and beat out everyone else.
The show features plenty of Dropout/CollegeHumor community members, such as Brennan Lee Mulligan, Zac Oyama, and Lou Wilson, but they get other random guests on the show as well. Bob the Drag Queen, Howie Mandel, and Tony Hawk have all appeared on the show.
It is absolutely hilarious. I have had to pause the show on multiple occasions to cry with laughter. I think part of the humor is many of the guests are comedians first, and foremost. I think the other part is that because many of the players are from the Dropout/CollegeHumor ecosystem, they’ve got a level of camaraderie and cohesion that is unmatched.
