Minecraft. This game sits at the top of long-lasting titles for adults and youths alike. It’s insanely popular amongst kids; however, many of their parents may not know much about it. For those that are unfamiliar with the Minecraft Marketplace and Marketplace Pass, here is a guide to help you understand and subscribe to it on the Nintendo Switch.
What is the Marketplace?
The Marketplace is where you can purchase skins, textures, biomes, weapons, and many other add-ons created by the Minecraft community that are not available in the base game. There is a quick minute video about the Marketplace and Minecoins at the bottom of this article.
Finding and Subscribing Marketplace Pass:
1. Launch Minecraft on your Nintendo Switch
2. Sign in with a Nintendo/Microsoft Account
To the bottom left of the main menu, you will be a button to sign in. Yes, you need an account to purchase on the Marketplace.
3. Once you sign in, select “Marketplace”
Third icon down in the main menu.
4. Select/Search Marketplace Pass
Currently, it is promoted at the top banner in the Marketplace. Select that or the black block with the three gold squares in the left side column.
5. Sign in (if prompted), then click subscribe!
Marketplace Pass subscription will charge $3.99/month, and the purchase will be done through your Nintendo eShop. As of 3/13/2024, a 30-day free trial is available.
Change your mind? How to cancel:
1. Sign into the Nintendo eShop
2. Access your account information by clicking your avatar on the top right side of the eShop main screen
3. Select Your Subscriptions
4. Turn off auto-renewal for Marketplace Pass
