Summer Game Fest 2024 begins this week, along with several other smaller showcases to compliment the mid-year celebration of video games. We are sure to receive many titles to get hyped for the latter half of 2024, but with all these showcases, you’re going to need some serious snacks! What will you be snacking on while streaming Summer Game Fest?
For an event like Summer Game Fest, I want something easy and fun. Tacos are scrumptious handhelds that offer endless choices of protein and toppings, much like how these showcases will offer endless games for 2024 and beyond! So, you can count on me to order some fish and barbacoa tacos from my local restaurant.
Tacos aside, I want to add some heat to my snackage, so I’ll likely pick up some Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos or Chili Lime Sun Chips. I’ll keep my sweets to a minimum, so I don’t slip into a sugar-induced coma and miss out on any epic trailers. I like to pop vanilla or chocolate wafers or bars in the freezer. Or, if I want to balance out the grease from the tacos and Doritos, I’ll consider popping grapes in the freezer for a healthier option.
For drinks, I’ll go with my standard Diet Coke; however, I feel like creating a mocktail is in order. The Raspberry Citrus Mocktail from All Recipes has fresh fruit and some bubbly to beat the heat and hit your tongue with some flavor. All you need for this mocktail are:
- 1/2 can of grapefruit-flavored seltzer
- 1 lime
- raspberries (recipe calls for five, but who’s counting?)
- 6 tablespoons water, divided
- 1 teaspoon honey, or to taste
- ¾ teaspoon white sugar, or to taste
- ice cubes
The goal here is to muddle the raspberries, mix in 2 tablespoons of water, then dissolve the sugar and honey in the mixture. Meanwhile, you fill your glass with ice, seltzer, water, and lime juice.
