Owlcat Games, the developer of CRPGs like Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, has announced that it will also be publishing narrative games developed by other studios.

Their first two games are Rue Valley, from Emotion Spark Studio in Serbia, and Shadow of the Road, from Another Angle Games in Poland.

Rue Valley is a narrative RPG akin to Disco Elysium, in which players take on the role of a man trapped in a time loop, “who faces his mental challenges to uncover the origins of the anomaly.”

Shadow of the Road is a turn-based isometric RPG set in an alternate feudal Japan. “It is an immersive story about samurai, honor, and allegiance, combined with a deep tactical turn-based combat system in a world filled with magical yokai and deadly steampunk technology.”

Owlcat Games is embarking on a new quest to help other studios as a publisher. We will work with teams that share our passion for telling captivating stories through narrative-driven games. Together we want to deliver new, exciting experiences, akin to what we as a studio aim to create ourselves. After reviewing more than 50 projects, we have signed deals with two talented development teams — Emotion Spark Studio, based in Serbia, and Another Angle Games, based in Poland.

The games are in early development. Further details will be shared later this month.
