Kingdom Come: Deliverance II was hard to miss at PAX West with its massive medieval pillar cut-outs and photo-ops with knights. However, the real delight was speaking with Warhorse Studios and playing the demo.

For those that aren’t familiar, the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an action-RPG in 2018 that takes you on an epic adventure in the Holy Roman Empire. It received high praise, and now a direct sequel is set to release early next year.

A representative from Warhorse Studios explained the development of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II was founded on three pillars– ensuring it that was authentically medieval, contained epic historic drama, and continued its execution as an immersive action RPG.

Players can expect improvements from the first game. This includes a larger map–filled with different terrain and environments, improvements in combat, and loads more of content such as side quests and mini games.
In the demo, I played through one mission to steal a sword and display it in order to allow a fair dual to mitigate an ever-growing political intrigue. It took me a while to get used to the controls because it has been so long since I played Kingdom Come: Deliverance; however, I adapted quickly.

From the squishing of mud beneath my boots to the disgruntled woman I had to bribe because she caught me lockpicking sucked me into complete immersion of 1403 Bohemia. The lock-picking mechanism was intuitive with the right amount of challenge, and I thoroughly enjoyed the dialogue options to win (or lose) favor with NPCs.

From what I’ve seen and experienced, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II sets to deliver a fully fleshed out Medieval world that will make time fly as you play!
