PAX West: Pancake Games Studio Show Off Its Debut Title Slime Heroes Co-op Mode

AT PAX West, Pancake Games Studio showcased the co-op mode of its debut game Slime Heroes, where you play as a slime who must save the world from evil oozy creatures and terrifying formidable bosses. In this cozy soulslike game, players can explore a vast open-world while meeting friends and new characters during the journey. Players will also discover new weapons and abilities to help them along the way. Players can mix and match them to various effects. Check out the trailer to see it in action.

I got to play Slime Heroes‘ co-op mode at PAX West. CEO and Founder of Pancake Games Tomas Gomez played with me as I got to experience the game for the first time. In co-op mode, both players are in the area fighting enemies and cannot leave until all opponents are gone. If your partner fails, you can help and revive them by sacrificing health to come and fight beside your partner. 

We eventually got to the boss, Corrupted Silva, who threw spikes of corruption at us. At one point, he dropped into a ball and started rolling at us while leaving spikes behind him before he spun around and shot out more needles everywhere. We dashed, attacked, and helped each other recover and sadly, we lost to the boss and my time was up.

I had a blast playing with Tomas and learned that Slime Heroes will have accessibility features to make it easier to play and enjoy. For example, you can alter damage from enemies, bosses, areas, and your partner. You can remap the buttons on the controller and keyboard. There’ll be visual accessibility and more to help you in this game.

I look forward to playing the full game when Whitethorn Games and Pancake Games release Slime Heroes for Steam, Epic Game Store, and Xbox Series X|S. You can wishlist the game on Steam.
