In celebration of seven years of seven years of The Caribbean Sail, Evan Massie, captain of Victorian Clambake, is preparing a Kickstarter for a deck of playing and tarot cards inspired by the title. The Caribbean Sail is a game which echoes Oregon Trail as you embark on adventures during the golden age of piracy.
The cards feature four unique suits, the coins, the swords, the hearts, and the skulls. Playable with any standard game—from poker to Massie’s own The Hunt for Davy Jones!—the unique suits are intended to give players the creative space to invent their own games.
If the campaign goes according to plan, clearing 1,000 decks, the cards will be printed on “air cushioned M32* linen stock that dreams are made from which cardistry experts and magicians would be proud to wield.”
Seven years. Wow. Talk like a pirate day 2017 was the initial release date of these piratey pixels and I never thought that I’d still be passionate about making new artwork or pushing content updates all this time later but you keep me motivated.
Thank you kindly for all your support over the years and bringing my dreams to life time and time again. Raise a drink to yourselves lads as we look forward to another year of Caribbean Sailing!
You can find Deck of Sailors on Kickstarter. It launches soon.
The Caribbean Sail is available on Steam. Boss Rush Network previously covered Mickey Mouse’s addition to the game as a secret player character in the game’s wild Fantasy Mode (which is in contrast to the game’s historically accurate main campaign).
