Cats! Cats are everywhere in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Not only can you pet them, but you also can obtain an outfit that allows you to communicate with our furry friends.
- This can be done by initiating and completing the Questioning the Local Cats side quest found in Kakariko Village.
- This side quest becomes available after completing the Still Missing main quest.
In Kakariko Village, there is an elderly man in the center of the village near the well. He will have a red exclamation over his head. He is worried about his pet cat that has recently gone missing.
The elderly man suggests using this cat outfit that gives the wearer the ability to communicate with cats; however, a woman has already purchased the outfit.
Make your way to the south end of Kakariko Village where the shop is, and the young woman in question is standing outside the store. She will be willing to part ways with the cat outfit if you can get the cat near the windmill to move from its spot. Why? Well, of course it happens to be napping on the same spot this young woman buried something special.

Head to the northeast windmill in the village where you see an orange and white cat sleeping over a patch of dirt. Cats sure love meat, so you can entire it by summoning the Grilled Fish or Grilled Meat Echo. The cat will pick up the scent and move out of its spot.

It’s not over yet. Use the Holmill Echo to dig up the young woman’s precious treasure. With that, she gives you the Cat Clothing.

Equip the Cat’s Clothing and talk to all the cats in the village. However, the only one that knows the whereabouts of the old man’s cat is sitting atop the windmill in the northwest side of Kakariko.

She tells you where the missing cat is, and thankfully its safe and sound on a tree just outside the eastern path outside of Kakariko. Check out the Zelda icon below if you want a precise location:

Of course, the cat is just taking a nap, but once you talk with her, she will return to her “person-friend”, and the old man is overjoyed.

You get 10 bunches of grapes for your trouble…but we all know the real prize here is the Cat Clothing.
