The final showdown against Null is a chaotic one, but it has some interesting elements–including the fact that Link fights by your side (for the most part). Here are some tips and tricks on taking down the big bad and saving Hyrule from all the rifts!
Note: Locations to find the referenced Echos are at the bottom of the article.
Phase One
Null is an abstract orb with three protruding claws.
- Null’s attacks include slamming their claws on the ground and sending a “shockwave” of sorts. Strafe and keep moving to avoid getting hit.
- Link will be shooting Null with arrows and slashing with his sword.
- Use your Echoes to damage the red tendons in each arm.
- Recommended Echoes: White Wolfos, Ball and Chain Trooper, Peahat, and Level 3 Sword Moblin or Darknut.

- After a while, Null will vanish into the wall, then reaching their claws out to grab you. Here, you can continue to summon Echoes to hack and slash; however, you also can Bind to Null’s arms to hold it out, allowing Link to deal massive damage.

This sequence continues for a while. After enough damage, Null will leave for Phase Two.
Phase Two
Link is left behind while you, Zelda, must swim after Null in a side-scrolling section where they utilize an older boss to fight alongside them. An Echo of Vocavor will send whirlpools.
- No need to attack Vocavor. Avoid the whirlpools, swim into the bubbles for air as needed
- Summon Echoes to tackle any enemies that Null sends your way
- Also use Echoes to chomp away at its limbs.
- Recommended Echoe(s): Chompfin

Phase Three
Phase three returns you back to the original boss area, and Link rejoins the fight. Things move faster, and Null summons more former bosses.
- Null has five arms, summoning Tri’s friends to summon evil Echoes.
- Your objective is to attack those arms with Echoes and/or pulling them with Bind
- A shadow will follow you–do not let it catch up, or else a claw will pop out and grab you!
- Null will disappear into the walls and lash out with its claws, similar Phase One.
- No need to fight the boss Echoes; focus on avoiding their moves.
- Recommended Echoes: Anything quick and strong. Ones that worked wonders for me were the White Wolfos, Ball and Chain Trooper, and the Peahat. Of course, you can opt for high level enemy types like a Level 3 Sword Moblin or Darknut (those two proved too slow for me as Null would obliterate them immediately before they could take a swing), as well as a Lynel.
Here are the various Echo Bosses that Null will use:
- Seismic Talus: Spins quickly in a circle with arms out. Cling towards the walls, and you’ll be spared.

- Mogryph: It summons sand tornadoes. Keep moving to avoid them.

- Ganon: It winds up and lunges in one direction. Again, just spin or move out of its way.

- Gohma: It lays spiderwebs that will slow you down. Burn them so you don’t get stuck with a Ignizol.
- Skorchill: It will spin across the arena and freeze you upon contact. Keep moving or utilize an Echo to protect you, like the Boulder.

As you chip away at Null’s masks by destroying their legs, it will summon more and more Echoes. You will see six Ganon Echoes or a mix of boss Echoes at once. Just keep moving and re-summoning your Echoes.
When Null is near defeat, use Bind to take hold of the Prime Energy and yank it out!
