Owlcat Games released Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader‘s Patch 1.3. A massive anniversary patch, it leaves few areas or mechanics untouched.
Across 1,000+ changes and fixes, Rogue Trader has received new cutscenes and revised cutscenes, many new items (including 12 new force swords), conviction rebalance, new voice over, more diverse loot tables throughout the first two acts, and the ability to rotate the Grand Strategist view.
Some encounters have been rebalanced, with a more challenging difficulty as the goal; the character models for Heinrix, Abelard, Kibellah, and Agenta have been updated to match their portraits; opening and closing the Journal has been optimized for better performance.
As for the conviction rebalancing, it has been modified to allow the player greater flexibility and a better ability to stay the course on their conviction of choice.
“Many dialogue choices in the third and fourth Acts of the game that gave Dogmatic, Heretical or Iconoclast points now give significantly more of those points,” said Owlcat Games in the full patch notes. “All projects that gave those points also now give double the amount. Every character that already had selected these dialogue choices or had already completed these projects will not receive new points immediately, as this can cause your character to switch conviction against your will. Instead, the players will receive the missing points for that conviction the next time they select a dialogue option with that conviction.”
In addition to the wide-ranging patch, which applies to all versions of the game, the console versions now allow co-op parties of up to 6 players as well as access to the digital artbook and OST. PlayStation 5 Pro allows up to 4k resolution.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is available on PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store; as well as available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. The full 1.3 patch notes are available on Owlcat Games’ website.
