Whether this came as a surprise or not, LEGO is partnering with The Pokémon Company next year. We’ve already seen non-LEGO brand sets featuring Pokémon, so what can we expect from the official collaboration in 2026?
In case you missed it, here is the official announcement:
The brand you’ve probably seen in stores is Mega Blocks, another building set that features Charizard, Dragonite, Gyarados, Pikachu, and much more. It’s safe to say that LEGO-brand Pokémon sets will likely be more nuanced, stylized…and pricier. I’ve brainstormed what I would like to see and the likelihood for it to happen.

LEGO sets of Pokémon themselves are the most obvious of predictions, but with over 1,000 Pokémon, the opportunities are endless. I can’t imagine a LEGO world without a Pikachu or Charizard, but I can also see larger-than-life legendary Pokémon such as Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos,Lugio, Ho-Oh, Mewtwo, Palkia, Dialga, Koraidon, Miraidon, and Arceus, make for great adult sets.

Then, you have your fan favorites like the Eevee evolutions, Meowth, Lucario, Garchomp, and Luxray.

Outside Pokémon, Poké Balls are great options due to variety such as Ultra Ball, Heal Ball, Quick Ball, Friend Ball, and Master Ball.

Lastly, LEGO and The Pokémon Company could take some deep cuts from the franchise and re-imagine key set pieces, like Kanto region gyms. The opportunities are endless! Better start saving up, collectors!
