The Borderlands series, with its past 3 headline games, has been cooking up this supposed main event with a vague line and the end of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. With that, lore-heads have been itching to know if Borderlands 4 will offer this supposed event.
Is the war going to happen in Borderlands 4?
This war was foreshadowed by a character the community has dubbed “The Watcher” in the pre-sequel, and our Vault Hunters needed to prepare against it. It was previously believed that the war in Borderlands 3 seemed to be the war foretold. Yet, it didn’t seem to have much weight behind it. More than likely, the Watcher meant a war between the Guardians and Humanity
Now, given what we’ve seen in the trailer it seems more than likely that this is it. As we see the forces of the main antagonist, The Time Keeper, square off against these new enemies, called the Rippers, conflict is certainly brewing.
More than likely, this Time Keeper is some kind of Eridian alien on the previously hidden world of Kairos, using what looks like a form of Eridian-coded soldiers. The motives of the Time Keeper are only hinted at as additional information on the PlayStation Blog as the Time Keeper,” rules over Kairos from on high.”
As it turns out, there has been speculation on other game blogs that this particular war is another red herring. That once again this war is not what the Watcher is talking about. However, another fake out wouldn’t really do Borderlands any favor with a second rug-pull. “Fool me once” as they say
It seems like fans, like myself, are getting what we wanted. A continuation to the stringed along plot line of a longstanding game franchise after a myriad of let-downs. What with the movie and the mixed reviews of Borderlands 3.
Is the war finally going to happen? Or has the plot line been dropped entirely? Let us know what you think on Boss Rush Network’s Discord channel.
