FCC filings confirm that the Nintendo Switch 2 will support NFC for Amiibo, Wi-Fi 6 for faster connectivity, and feature two USB-C ports for charging. The console has been tested with original Switch game cartridges, reinforcing its backward compatibility. While the exact release date is unknown, Nintendo has confirmed the Switch 2 will launch sometime this year.

Monolith Soft has added cutscene director Daisuke Honda, known for his work on Final Fantasy XVI, VII Remake, and Kingdom Hearts III, fueling speculation about its upcoming Switch 2 projects. While the studio is busy with Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, it has also been hiring for a new RPG, and its history of supporting major Nintendo titles suggests broader involvement in future first-party games. With the Switch 2 Direct approaching on April 2, excitement is building for a possible Monolith Soft reveal.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 launches on July 11 for all major platforms, including Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC, with day-one availability on Game Pass. The game is a faithful remake with new skaters, parks, music, cross-platform multiplayer, a New Game+ mode, and a new level called Waterpark. Pre-orders grant early access perks, with the Digital Deluxe Edition offering extra content like Doom Slayer and Revenant skaters, while the Collector’s Edition includes a Birdhouse skateboard deck.

GoldenEye 007 has been nominated for the 2025 World Video Game Hall of Fame after previously missing out in 2023. GAME UPDATES:
Civilization VII’s first major update, version 1.1.0, has been released for the Nintendo Switch, introducing features like the Bermuda Triangle, enhancements to the Modern Age Geographic Society, and the ability to convert holy cities. The update also brings various UI and gameplay improvements, including adjustments to leader abilities and AI behavior. 
No Man’s Sky’s latest hotfix addresses numerous bugs and optimizations, but it has not yet launched on the Nintendo Switch. Developer Hello Games assures players that the update will arrive on Switch as soon as possible, bringing fixes for missions, inventory issues, planetary rendering, and overall performance improvements.
Stardew Valley’s latest Switch patch fixes text issues and crashes introduced in the previous update, ensuring smoother gameplay.
