As we enter the final weeks leading up to the launch of Nintendo’s Switch 2, I’ve seen more Creator’s Voice clips posted on their Twitter page. Curious, I watched the one by Koei Tecmo on Hyrule Warrior’s: Age of Imprisonment. While not as huge as a Direct or as small as a random tweet, I feel Creator’s Voice is the perfect vessel to generate hype and pave the way to success for Nintendo’s next console. Why? Third-party support.
The Creator’s Voice blog has featured several third-party developers, discussing their game and any thoughts on the Switch 2 in short videos. This is a brilliant move on Nintendo’s part, as many gamers have been pining for more third-party support that the first Switch had. So far, we’ve seen FromSoftware, Supergiant Games, Hazelight, Avalanche Studios, CD Projekt Red, and more participate in these “dev logs”. Even though several of their games have already released, the additional commentary where it applies to the Switch 2 is a strong move.

Going back to the example from earlier, I watched Koei Tecmo Producer Ryota Matsushita and AAA Games Studio Head Yosuke Hayashi speak about Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. From this four-minute video, I’ve learned that the game will feature higher frame rates (allowing a smoother experience, especially for a Warriors-type game) and hinted that we will get to know the four masked sages. These little bread-crumbs are a nice appetizer for a Zelda fan like me, and I appreciate learning what the Switch 2 will bring to the table when it comes to its power.
Another example is CD Projekt Red’s video on Cyberpunk 2077. Mind you, this game released back in 2020, so it isn’t new by any means. So, why are they here to talk-up their five-year-old game? Why should anyone care? Well, Game Director Adam Badowski and VP Charles Tremblay revisit why they made this game, and how they wanted to create a fully immersive experience in this city of dreams. They touch briefly on using the joy-cons to direct your katana in combat, how the immersion will make any returning players “feel right at home”, and that the Switch 2 is the best way to experience their game on the go.
That said, these Creator’s Voice blogs are nothing to sleep on. I think these short-form videos are a great middle-ground to supplement the lager Nintendo Directs and not leave them to be buried in a random social media posting. Leave it to Nintendo to curate content that will likely be effective in further solidifying the Switch 2’s success, especially from a third-party support standpoint.
