One of the biggest talking points of every Destiny expansion is the next raid — and the race for World First.

Bungie has finally revealed the name of Destiny 2’’s next raid, called The Desert Perpetual, launching on Saturday, July 19 with the Edge of Fate expansion. Alongside the reveal came some information on the highly anticipated World First race — the global competition to be the first fireteam to complete the raid. The race begins at 10 AM PT, with full details arriving in the July 17 TWID.
The Desert Perpetual will launch in Contest Mode for 48 hours, pushing fireteams to complete all encounters and claim the exclusive World First raid belts. To enter, players must complete the Edge of Fate campaign; Legendary difficulty grants Contest readiness, while Normal difficulty will require additional Power leveling.
Bungie will monitor all completions and reserves the right to disqualify any team for rule violations, even after a winner is announced.

Guardians can tune in live to watch the World First race and earn rewards, including Twitch Drops and exclusive emblems for watching or gifting subs. The raid kicks off on July 19 at 10 AM PT, with Contest Mode active until July 21 at 9:59 AM PT.
Bungie will host a pre-show live on their Twitch channel from 6:45 AM to 10 AM PT, followed by full-day coverage from Twitch streamer Evanf1997 until 6 PM PT.
From July 19 at 6 PM PT through July 29 at 10 AM PT, gifting a Twitch sub to a Destiny 2 streamer will earn players the Golden Relief emblem. In addition, YouTuber CBGray will distribute limited Power Hues emblem codes via YouTube during the race. Make sure your Bungie and Twitch accounts are linked to receive all eligible rewards.
