After Capcom announced that there will be a first-ever Resident Evil amiibo available for Nintendo in Summer 2026, I became more hyped than ever. This opened so many more opportunities for collaboration that is a win for gamers around the world. The first amiibo will feature Grace Ashcroft, the protagonist in the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem. With that, what are some top contenders for Resident Evil amiibo?
Grace makes sense for an amiibo given she is the lead protagonist for Resident Evil Requiem, which will release on the Switch 2 same day as other major platforms. However, she is a new character and doesn’t carry any nostalgia for the massive fanbase. Capcom has a healthy working history with Nintendo, collaborating on amiibo in the past with the Monster Hunter and Street Fighter series, so it’s about time for Resident Evil to get the amiibo treatment. I am honestly looking forward to seeing Grace Ashcroft’s design.
If I were to write a comprehensive wish list of Resident Evil amiibo, I might be here all day, but there are a few that definitely are top of mind:
Leon S. Kennedy
This one seems obvious. In addition to being a fan favorite, he is still highly rumored to make an appearance in Resident Evil Requiem. There could be several variants: the young cop from Resident Evil 2, the jaded round-house kicker in Resident Evil 4, or the older version in Resident Evil 6 (and maybe Requiem). It would be a lot of fun if his amiibo unlocked outfits from his previous titles and maybe some goofy dialogue options in-game.
Hey, at least this is a better option than the rumored Leon Kennedy underwear:
Jill Valentine
Jill is another fan-favorite, so we can’t exclude her from candidacy for her own amiibo. She’s been in several key games including the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 5, and more. Jill is a tough and lovable character and doesn’t ever need to be included in a Jill-sandwich. Her amiibo could also unlock outfits from her previous games or a special weapon, like her Beretta 92FS “Samurai Edge”.

Nemesis
One of the neatest looking villains goes to Nemesis from Resident Evil 3. While Mr. X is formidable and Saddler becomes a grotesque monstrosity in Resident Evil 4, Nemesis would make an incredible extra-large amiibo.

Ethan Winters
Okay, hear me out. Between two whole games, Capcom committed to never showing Ethan’s face. What if Capcom and Nintendo crafted an amiibo that also obstructed his face? It would be hilarious and play on this “tradition”. I’m not sure what perks you’d get from a Winter’s amiibo, but wouldn’t it be funny if it unlocked a mode that hid your character’s face during your entire playthrough?

Lady Dimitrescu
A franchise legend at this point, despite her recent entry into the series, Lady D is a shoe-in. She would be in her iconic dress and hat, and she would have to be to larger scale than the rest of the Resident Evil amiibo. It’s such a shame this amiibo wasn’t already created, because part of the Resident Evil Requiem Deluxe Edition will include a Lady D outfit for Grace.
