Boss Rush Banter: What Kind of Genshin Impact Merch Do You Want?

3–5 minutes

HoYoverse has a store site for fans of their games to buy official fan merchandise (merch). I personally often check it out to window shop, and sometimes, buy items that I really like. I own the bag based off of Diluc’s design as well as a small Diluc character stand from one of the concerts. They are a bit pricier than other merch I’ve seen and bought, but they are great quality, so I don’t mind the price as much, personally.

However, this is not the point of this banter. What kinds of Genshin Impact merch do you want? HoYoverse has done a great job with trying to diversify what kinds of merchandise they offer as well as collaborating with other companies to give more options. However, that doesn’t mean that they’ve satisfied the community yet. There’s a reason why there’s still so much unofficial merch because fans want more.

I personally would love to see posters for the game and its characters. There are specific cutscenes or moments I think of that I would love to have on my wall. Unless you got a good screenshot during that scene, found one, or someone recreated it, it’s hard to get these kinds of posters. I would love to see a poster of the giant Scaramouche boss or to have a poster of that scene with Neuvillette regaining his sovereignty. They already offer the official photos for wall papers and albums, so I could see them moving forward with making large posters as merchandise.

Another form of merch I’d love to see is design and art books. HoYoverse has been pretty free with allowing their designs to be shown off either in shows or in livestreams. But I would love to have an actual book filled with early designs or even later ones. I think about the amount of games I’ve played offering art albums alongside the game, and I would love to see one for Genshin Impact.

In a different avenue of this conversation, I would also love to see merch that isn’t targeting a single character. A majority of the merch so far HoYoverse offers tends to be for only one character like my bag with Diluc’s character in mind. I would love a figurine with two characters or even just a stand that features a few characters with connections to each other. I don’t think any player has only one favorite in the game or at least doesn’t have multiple characters they like. Having merch that feature multiple characters would be great for players trying to save money on fan merch while also creating a scenario of hitting two birds with one stone.

HoYoverse has done a great job so far with creating both subtle and loud versions of fan merchandise for players to show off their love of the game. But there are so many other ideas for Genshin Impact merch that I would love to see happen.

What are your thoughts about Genshin Impact’s fan merchandise? What would you like to see? Share your thoughts in the comments below or in our Boss Rush Discord!
