Microsoft kicked off their showcase for the 2026 Tokyo Game Show by celebrating their continued partnership with Kojima Productions, and in doing so they welcomed the man himself to reveal the lead cast for his upcoming espionage game.
Hideo Kojima has confirmed that Bill Skarsgård will portray the lead protagonist and player character in Physint. Part of the acclaimed Skarsgård family of Swedish entertainers, Bill is most notable for his roles in Hemlock Grove, The Crow (2024), Nosferatu, and as Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the It films and television show beginning in 2017.

Joining Skarsgård will be model and actress Charlee Fraser (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga), Korean action star Don Lee (Eternals, Train to Busan, The Roundup), and Japanese actress Hamabe Minami (Godzilla Minus One, Shin Kamen Rider. As of now, it is still unknown what exactly the roles the actors will be portraying, as well as the game’s scenario.
The new poster for the project also teases the tagline “The Next Cold War Begins,” which definitely brings to mind Kojima’s Metal Gear franchise, which is currently owned and operated by Konami.

Kojima has stated that Physint is unlike any game previously, and will “redefine action-espionage” gaming, as well as being “unbound by any existing genres in digital entertainment.” How it will accomplish this exactly is also currently unknown.

Earlier this month, Kojima Productions and Sony parted ways from development of Physint for unclear reasons, although reports state that Physint‘s budget had exceeded it’s limit, and that Kojima was missing deadlines set by Sony. After months of attempting to find a new publisher, Kojima partnered with Xbox to bring his game to life.
Xbox and Kojima already have a strong working relationship, as the horror title OD is also being produced by Xbox.
