EDIT: Included updated “Roadmap” released by Blizzard.
During Saturday’s BlizzCon 2026, the video game published unveiled that a brand new entry in the World of Warcraft series is on the way, and it proves that recent rumors of a “Classic Plus” game were correct.
Titled World of Warcraft: Forever, the new game once again returns to the Azeroth originally established in 2004. However, instead of being a faithful representation of how that world appeared–like we can experience in World of Warcraft: Classic–this will completely envision that world anew with fresh takes on an old Azeroth.
The confirmed additions include:
- Three new zones
- Nine new dungeons
- Two new raids
- New race: Skyborne Elves
- New race/class combos, including Forsaken Paladin, Dwarf Shaman, and Orc Mage
- Complete overhaul of existing zones
- New content for all levels
Players wanting to test the waters of this new game won’t have to wait long at all, as Beta versions will be going live later this week, and the full game will launch on November 4, 2026. Forever will be available for all those with an existing World of Warcraft subscription.
Blizzard has included the below roadmap, detailing updates coming to the game, including when raids, dungeons, and the “Hardcore Mode” will launch.

This appears to be a very exciting new version of World of Warcraft that should satisfy players old and new. However, with its release, there will be no fewer than three different versions of the MMO, which may threaten to split the valuable player base, as well as the developers who will be stretched to support all three titles.
What are your thoughts on World of Warcraft: Forever? Do you think revisiting the old world with new features is warranted, or do you think it’s a risky move that may come to hurt the franchise in the long run? Sound off in the comments below, and look to us for all your gaming content!
