Microsoft has confirmed that Halo Infinite will be coming this holiday, with its free-to-play multiplayer releasing on the same day.
A new cinematic trailer explains that in this new adventure, protagonist Master Chief has been equipped with a new A.I. after longtime companion Cortana was deleted. Chief and his new partner are unsure who made these modifications, and set out to find out who or what upgraded his power armor.
The multiplayer trailer showcases how the new grappling hook will work in PvP, displaying a player grappling to the ceiling in order to gain a better vantage point in sniping an opponent. Gamers can also use the grappling hook to grab distant weapons, including those dropped from defeated foes.
The return of fan favorite mode “Headhunter” is also confirmed, which sees players competing to capture skulls and return them to drop points on the map.
