Paramount Releases Trailer for the new Halo Show and it delivers the goods.
During the NFL Playoff game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Paramount released a powerful trailer for the series starring Pablo Schreiber as John-117, Danny Sapani as Sergeant Johnson, Olive Gray as Miranda Keyes, and Jen Taylor reprising her role as the voice of Cortana, Chief’s AI companion and Dr. Halsey. Halo as described by Paramount is “an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. Halo will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.” There are new and familiar faces in the trailer as well as recognizable foes that Chief and his new team of Spartans will face, iconic weapon, and authentic vehicles and ships. It definitely hit on a lot of things fans of the series will love.
Certain Affinity is working on a Monster Hunter Style Game for Xbox and Game Pass.
It seems Certain Affinity, the developer behind multiplayer modes from Halo, Call of Duty, Doom, and more, are creating their own IP with the help of Xbox Games Studios. Codenamed “Project Suerte,” Certain Affinity seems to be developing a large scale multiplayer game in the vein of Monster Hunter, as reported by Windows Central and Jeff Grubb via his Giant Bomb news show, Grubbsnax. The untitled project is said to feature “big monster battles with multiplayer” and started development in Summer 2020, looking for a 2023 reveal and releasing in 2024.
Certain Affinity might also be working on a Battle Royale Mode for Halo Infinite.
Speaking of Certain Affinity and Halo, a team at the developer is said to be creating a more accessible game mode for casual players and newcomers to the franchise, and many believe it’s a battle royale mode. In a quote from Windows Central, it states “Certain Affinity has long been a close partner of Microsoft, working on various Halo titles from Halo 2, through to the Master Chief Collection to Halo Infinite. I’ve received some separate hints that Certain Affinity may also be working on a new game mode for Halo Infinite, which could be a take on the popular battle royale formula or something completely different entirely.” Though battle royals seem to be the butt of a lot of jokes these days, a new one within the Halo Sandbox could provide a much needed shot in the arm, especially if Forge Mode can also implement the mode.
Games With Gold:
Microsoft has officially announced their Games With Gold for February 2022. Included with your Xbox Live Gold subscription or Xbox GamePass Ultimate subscription are the Xbox One games Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse and Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield, while the Xbox 360 offerings include Hydrophobia and Band of Bugs. Remember all of these games are backwards compatible on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Even if you don’t plan on playing them now, add them to your library for later. Free is free.
