Resident Evil Re:Verse, a multiplayer spin-off game that features characters all throughout the Resident Evil universe and franchises originally slated to release this month, has now been pushed back to sometime in 2022, according to a post on the Resident Evil Twitter page.
If you purchased Resident Evil Village, you should have received a beta code to play the game which is still available to redeem as of this writing. The beta is set in Resident Evil 2 Remake’s version of the Raccoon City Police Department, with playable characters Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Ada Wong, and HUNK. The gameplay pits you against each other, as well as with zombies and other bioweapons that stand in your way. The graphics sport a stylized cell-shaded look instead of the hyper-realism style from the more recent titles.
There has been no word as to why the significant delay, only that the developers want to “deliver a smooth gameplay experience.”
