Last month, E3 delivered some amazing titles coming to various platforms. Summer Game Fest also showcased new titles we look forward to playing. We knew more presentations were happening, and today Electronic Arts, better known as EA, had its turn. With its EA Play Live 2021 shown on July 22, there were seven announcements made throughout the presentation. With a 15 minute pre-show before the main showcase, EA Play didn’t focus on sport titles this year. Without further ado, let’s hop into this recap!

Hosted by WWE Xavier Woods, EA Play bought games from different developers in the company with a big focus on Battlefield 2042. They started with Codemasters, who revealed Grid Legends. The game will have a story campaign that places you as an underdog, played by actor Ncuti Gatwa from Netflix’s Sex Education; you must rise to the top and face fierce competition. It will also use XR technology that was used in Disney’s The Mandalorian for its background environments. Watch the trailer and presentation for more details. Grid Legends is planned for a 2022 release.

Seer, a new character was revealed for Apex Legend: Emergence, along with a new map and soon a new season for their eSports league that will include PlayStation and Xbox players to battle it out with PC adopters. Sadly, Switch owners won’t be able to participate. Watch the newest trailer for Season 10 and listen to the information about the new direction for the game. A demo of the gameplay will air on July 26 for Seer, with the new season going live August 3.

Last month, Lost In Random was revealed, and now we know it is an EA Original title coming to PC and all consoles on September 10. You can pre-order the title now. Presenters showed more gameplay elements and introduced the card battle mechanic that can change the way you fight enemies and bosses. They also explained more of the story, which isn’t that “random,” but it’s exciting to hear more details. Check out this new game play trailer!

The newest season to Knockout City will drop July 27. Titled “Fight At The Movies,” you’ll run around new maps, use new balls, and play with new skins in this arcade style dodgeball game. Check out the trailer to see it in action, but don’t knock yourself out by all the cool additions they’re adding.

With anticipation to see Battlefield 2042 in action, Dice revealed a new mode that will be included in the game that is created by Ripple Effect (formally known as Dice LA). Known as Battlefield Portal, the mode will allow players to mix selected content from various Battlefield games like Battlefield 3 and Bad Company. You can customize your matches with different soldiers from the series and go head to head in a assortment of matches created from the community. Check out the reveal trailer to get an idea of the mayhem that you could cause.

Before I get to the major reveal of the show, I want to note that presenters did announce The Sims 4: Cottage Living Expansion that features the artist Japanese Breakfast, available right now. Here’s a trailer to show off some of the expansion.

EA concluded the show by revealing the remake of Dead Space. Developed by Motive and running on the Frostbyte engine, the game will be available for PC, PlayStation 5 and Series X|S. Not a lot of details has been revealed at this time, but after months of rumors and speculation, we finally get to see the 2008 survival horror classic rebuilt from the ground up. Watch the trailer to see what may be in-store for this game.

With no news on Skate 4, no new game reveals for Nintendo Switch, and no news on their sports titles, EA focused on delivering different genres and experiences that they have planned for the various platforms. If you want to see the full presentation, click on the video below.
