Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the masterminds behind the acclaimed animated show South Park, finalized a deal on August 5th with ViacomCBS for a staggering $900 million, which includes new episodes, movies, and even another video game.

Bloomberg reports that Parker and Stone have agreed to extend the hit Comedy Central show through its 30th season, as well as create “14 spin-off movies” that will premiere on Paramount+, the streaming service for ViacomCBS. For reference, as of this writing the show is about to begin its 24th season.
Gamers in particular will be excited to know that part of that deal includes another 3D video game. The last two games in the franchise (South Park: The Stick of Truth and South Park: The Fractured But Whole) were both critical and commercial successes. Details concerning the new title are unknown at this time.
In addition, the new deal also allocates funds towards a documentary about the duo’s relationship with South Park as a whole, as well as a marijuana company that they co-own.
What would you like to see most out of a new South Park game? Since they have already lampooned the fantasy and super hero genres, what theme should be tackled next? Let us know in the comments below!
