Nintendo made a surprise announcement during today’s Direct, revealing that a remaster of the beloved SNES action RPG ActRaiser would be available today on the Nintendo Switch eShop.

Titled ActRaiser Renaissance, the Square Enix published game blends 2D platforming and city-building in a unique style. The original game, released in 1990, was followed up by a sequel in 1993, which removed the city-building element much to fan disappointment.

In the game, players control an omnipotent being known as “The Master” who manifests itself on Earth to defeat “The Evil One.” Gamers will defeat monsters in side-scrolling levels, and level up their character by constructing towns and increasing the happiness of the population.

New levels, bosses, and scenarios are also confirmed.

The game is currently available for $29.99 USD on the Nintendo eShop.
